Hello which university is better? Saint Mary’s College of California or University of San Francisco? They are both around the same price (living off campus) and both have my major (Politics).
You can get a great education at either school. The rankings of the two schools are nearly identical. Have you checked into internships or off-campus study programs available in your area of interest? Talked to professors in the department?
I know you’re from NorCal; have you visited both campuses? The settings are so completely different from each other - vibrant big city vs bucolic, somewhat isolated suburb. You’ll have an easier time finding housing in the Moraga area than in SF. The vibe of each school is pretty different too, with SMC being smaller and (IMO) more conservative, less diverse.
Consider the strengths of other majors or minors you might pursue. If you decide to change majors, pick up a second major, or take a minor, does one school have the advantage?
Will you have a car?
SMC is more difficult to get to and from than USF.
Both have good programs, but I personally would choose USF.
First because they’re Jesuit and tend to be more open and accepting and
second because as a larger school in a wonderful city, there will be more options for internships.
Cafes, restaurants, movies, shopping, Golden Gate Park
and the (very cold) beach are all right there at your fingertips.
