I applied in September, and still haven’t heard back. I have a 4.4 GPA, 36 ACT, 2400 SAT
Just letting you all know; Baylor University considers SAT/ACT scores to be more important than GPA
I agree that scores are their priority. Baylor’s application is free and requires no essay. They require you to submit SAT scores… and a transcript. The other stuff is optional, and optional means optional to them.
I applied to Baylor on Oct. 29 and received my acceptance last week. I want to attend, but the school is simply too expensive.
Accepted in late October from California. Anybody else get accepted living in California?
Looking for another Cali guy to room with!
Correction my son is looking for a Cali or just a Godly guy who likes working out. He is prebusiness.
Baylor UTY Scholarship: My daughter applier to Baylor UTY as a standby and still waiting for confirmation. I see some got scholarships with ACT scores of 35+. However it is only 80K and not a near full tuition as outlined on their website. Waiting to see what my daughter gets. She is already auto admit at UT and got into Plan 2 and waiting for Deans scholar. Even with 80K for 4 years the balance is way above UT.
Hey guys, I know that it’s Christmas today and people are relaxing. But can anyone please help me answer this question.
I sent my application to Baylor in December 15, 2015. My SAT Test date was in October 3.
In my goBaylor account, the system displays in the “comment” section that my test date is December 15, 2015.
So can anyone tell me if this was my fault when I self-reported wrongly or it is the system’s display ?
And will they disqualify me because of this ? I have already sent the university two emails, but it’s Christmas so I think they won’t read it.
I would be so pleased if anyone can help me. Thank you and merry Christmas
You did nothing wrong. It says the test date is whatever date you log in is @Fonixi
Son accepted. Received $80k Golds. Still not enough. Do the Regents offers announce later, or does this mean he missed out on Regents? He was a 3.97UW w/1600/2330, NMSF, AP scholar, allstate athlete, and other very good ec’s.
Thx!
@jjloehr, Regents is for NM Finalists. I believe confirmation of finalist status is in February, and then he would need to select Baylor as his top choice to get that scholarship.
Accepted! Baylor is my first choice.
3.98 weighted
Rigorous schedule with many AP and honors
Ranked in top 25%
29 composite ACT, 30 superscore
4 years of sports
Academic and leadership awards
Lots of community service
$64,000 scholarship, also attending Invitation to Excellence in January, which will be a helpful additional $2,000
@jjloehr…Did you son got a letter or the status was updated? When did he apply?
I just got deferred
Deferred. They said something about getting a high number of applications during the early period and that to enhance the app please fill in the questions and parent form. I think the admissions rep from California was annoyed when I indicated I was applying early action to schools and would know on 12/15, so would appreciate Baylor letting me know if they are interested around that time. Funny, they pursued me, granted me a fee waiver, and are now playing the delay game. Touche to Baylor for deferring me as I didn’t get my early action acceptances, but I’ll remember this deferral.
Just found out I got deferred today. GPA 4.25. SAT 1850. Superscore 1360. I just don’t understand because I got into both SMU and TCU and my friend who got rejected from both of those got into Baylor with merit scholarships…
YEEEEEEEEET GOT DEFERRED BOIIIISSSSS
Demographics: Male, South Asian, Public School
Intended major(s):Bioinformatics
ACT: 31
Class rank: Top 25%
UW/W GPA: 3.8/4.19
Coursework:–Mostly AP, Honors, and IB shnizzle. Showed progression

My D got in Pre-med with 80K and not the Regents. Not sure who gets that scholarship. She has 35 ACT and 4th in school (out of 555), 1 year research in MD Anderson , shadowing 2 doctors, state debate twice, 5’s and 4’s in AP, National Merit semi finalist (for now and waiting on finalist decision in Feb). 800 Math SAT, 780 Bio. now if she indicates Baylor as no.1 preferred in national merit finalist she will get full ride at Baylor and she is not too inclined to go there. She got full ride in UT Dallas and 6K per year and UT Plan 2, and full ride with Hons in UTY of Houston. UT Austin is her choice in Texas pubic schools. She is waiting on Dean’s at UT. applied to other schools(WashU, Brown, Vandy, UNC, Rice, Stanford, Case Western, UChicago, ) Got to wait and see
@rksugarland, congrats to your daughter! The National Merit scholarship at Baylor is not a full ride, but it is full tuition. Still, not a bad deal Sounds like she has some great choices!
Yes I agree it is full tuition with NM finalist and choosing Baylor as top choice . But my niece is there and the cost of living is very minimal. Parents no need to stress out. It may come to under 10k per year.
