Baylor transfer

I’m finishing up at a community college here at home and I’ve been accepted to Baylor for Fall 2016, is Baylor the right place to go? I love how prestigious it is, but it’s expensive. Is there any financial advice I could get? I’m not from a wealthy family, just a single parent home.

Ask on the Baylor board. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/baylor-university/

@Marsxxiv hi! Depending on your GPA from CC, you could qualify for an academic transfer scholarship. In addition, if you’re a member of PTK, you get an addition 1000. So you could qualify for up to $11,000. Now, Baylor costs ~$56K and when I applied as a freshman, my bill was ~25K (had the freshman provost scholarship which is $14K/yr, so not much difference from the $11K I would have to pay now if I went) which is still too much so I’m finishing at my local CC. Everything depends on your parents income, so if you’re Pell eligible (I wasn’t, I’m middle class) you will most likely get more, but not a crazy amount (maybe bringing it down to $10-18K). Also, with this big gap, you have to consider whether you want to actually pursue an undergrad degree that will most likely not pay much without grad school. That big gap means you would have to get a private loan and your parent (or someone willing to cosign for each year you need it) will have to sign the loan with you and QUALIFY. Baylor average cost after financial aid is $24K-$30K. Hope this helps.
