Baylor Univ. Freshman Housing?

Hi CC! I’m new to the forums and am thinking about committing to Baylor! is anyone familiar with freshman housing?

thanks so much

There is info at the Baylor website about housing but basically you will be in a single sex dorm. There are also Engaged Learning Groups which focus on a topic such as “doing justice” and you learn and discuss the topic as well as live together and have social activities. You can also choose to be in a Living Learning community which focuses on an academic interest such as leadership, fine arts, science etc. Then there is also the residential colleges, including the honors college. Outside of the traditional dorms you probably have to apply and be accepted. My daughter has been accepted in the Honors Residential College, but we don’t have any first hand experience.

My d is living in Memorial the honors dorm for the second year. She loves it there though the rooms are older it is a very good location in the historic part of campus and has a popular dining hall. The men’s honor dorm is next door as is the ROTC. The North Village LLC’s are newer and offer more amenities (private bath’s). They also have a new dorm opening this fall East Village but I don’t know if it’s for frosh. My D shares a suite bath with her roomie and the two girl on the other side of the suite. It works out fine and she she has made great friendships with amazing girls.

Brooks College is the easiest place to make friends and anyone can live there.

Good luck with your decision

I’m an incoming freshman for the class of 2017 and I got accepted into the science and health LLC. My LLC doesnt have community bathrooms where you share with a floor, but cove/suite style dorms where you share with multiple people. I know that my LLC has classrooms in the building along with the fact that it is close to the science building.

My daughter is wanting to major in Psychology with a pre-med track. What would be a better option for her - Honors dorm or LLC? Thanks.

The honors dorm has lots of pre-med students.

Thank you @KCEdition
