Uhm, hi! I'm a senior applying for college. I've been accepted to Baylor University and the University of Miami so far (the others pending till some time in April) and I was wondering if anyone had some insight as to which school had a stronger pre-med program. Barring that, I think I'm a tentative neuroscience/neurobiology major, so I suppose a strong biology or neuroscience program might compensate for a slightly weaker pre-med program. I've heard pretty good things about Baylor's medical school, and Miami's medical facilities, but neither or those things seem to actually imply that they'll have a good undergraduate program. Baylor gave me a grant that will cover two years there, and I won't know about Miami till April.

Both schools will give you the opportunity for a great education; the perceived prestige differences between them is small. Getting into medical school is about your GPA and MCATs. Furthermore, the last time I checked, med school is very expensive, so my suggestion is to go to the one that is net cheapest and also leaves you with the least amount of debt. Right now that sounds like Baylor but Miami has been known to be quite generous with FA…

Baylor does not have a medical school. The Baylor medical school in Houston is entirely independent.
