BB CR Questions #8 pg 647

<p>I'm not bad with CR, but this question left me baffled. BAFFLED.</p>

<h1>8 - what the heck makes the answer B? What in the passage gives the reader the idea the author is appreciative? I'd think it's D (awe), because HAL "could not only reason but also experience human feelings and anxiety" <- the latter being amazing.</h1>

<p>the author's attitude towards the portrait is shown in the entire passage, not just in the sentence in which the word "portrait" appears. because he notes that computers have surpassed hal in some ways, it's difficult to conclude that the author is in awe of the way hal is portrayed.</p>
