BB Practice Tests vs. REAL THING

Do BB practice tests have the same level of difficulty as the real thing? Namely the Crital Reading and the Math sections.

Same. Completely.

I've heard they're easier, but I've never taken he real SAT so I can't really say.

Anyone else?

Specifically those who have taken the actual SAT and used BB to prep for it?

i thought the actual CR was harder

I've never taken the test, but look at it this way.
Those tests are OFFICIAL tests. So if they were easier, that means Collegeboard increased the difficulty of the SAT's in recent years. I would highly doubt, as there are still the same number of 2400's, 2300's, 2200's etc. as previous years.
So I would say they are the about the same. The difficulty will maybe impact a +30/-30 score.

I'll let you know tomorrow.

They are the same.

However, being the same, thats why the score ranges are so different, because they adjust the curves every year. So sometimes a -3 will get u a 760 while other times it will get you a 720.

They account for variability by those large score ranges.

I always thought the BB waaaay easier.

or maybe I just freaked during the real thing.

I found them pretty accurate maybe a little easier, freaking out on the SAT is the main thing.

i think the difficulty of the bb practice tests is pretty much the same, but when you go to score yourself, depending on which score you take in their range, you might end up doing way better (thus making bb seem easier), or worse (haha not a lot of ppl i know take the low end of the range)

The BB SATs = the real SATs. The real SAT only feel harder because you're more nervous, since you know that THIS ONE really matters

yeah they're just about the same. SAT may seem harder, or much harder, because of nerves and pressure.

I thought the Blue Book tests were harder, but that's probably because I never broke 2300 on the BB tests, whereas I got a 2340 on the real thing...

"I thought the Blue Book tests were harder, but that's probably because I never broke 2300 on the BB tests, whereas I got a 2340 on the real thing..."

BEAST. teach us your ways hahaha

same exact ONLY WHEN I filled in bubbles.

it seems CRAZY that filling in bubbles would make a difference-but it takes me forever (i'm OCD) and i can lose out of 1-2 questions on math, etc

so I do a lot better when I do BB without the scantron

After taking the test, I would say BB practice tests are very helpful, especially on Math & Writing sections.

Objectively, the CR sections are somewhat easier than the official exams, the Math sections are slightly easier, and the Writing sections are somewhat easier.

The Study Guide, or "Blue Book," contains composites of mostly previously administered questions (undoubtedly, virtually all of the short passages and some of the Math questions had to be written from scratch), although the tests in their entirety have never been administered as official exams. Therefore, the difficulty of the various sections does not always exactly match the difficulty of the actual exams.

By the way, if anyone is interested in getting a very accurate score conversion table for the Blue Book exams (I created scales for Tests 4 through 8), please e-mail me for it. The scores produced by the scale have proven to match official scores very closely. As most of you know, the scales in the Blue Book are virtually meaningless and useless.

Godot can you send me the scaled scores?
