BB Question

Test 5 of 2nd edition BB book
Test 3 of old BB book

Okay so section 3, question 24.

THe whole last paragraph didn't sense. Can someone explain it and how they come out with an understandable language?

This passage is VERY literal. The author is essentially saying that “aesthetic enjoyment proper” is fundamentally incompatible with “preoccupation with human content.” It must be based on some other aspect of the story. Answer choice A is the only one which makes sense.

That’s exactly what I thought. But how did answer A translate into that?

If you’re not reading/viewing art for the human intrigue, you are observing the artistic elements. It made sense to me right away, but I’m not sure I’m explaining it in its totality. Also, the other options were “lol ***” to me, except for maybe (B), which I could easily eliminate by considering that the author doesn’t bring his personal preferences into the passage. Maybe if you tell me what you picked, we could reason a bit more.
