BB WriTING QUESTION HELP

On October 13, 1955, at the Six Gallery in San Francisco, Allen Ginsberg read his poem "Howl, being the inauguration of both" a new style in poetry and the Beat movement.

a) Howl, being the inauguration of both
b) Howl, both inaugurated
c) Howl, it was the inauguration of both
d) Howl, whose inauguration of both
e) Howl, thus inaugurating both

The answer is E. I am extremely confused because I have never seen "thus" conjunctivitis sentences like this. Can anyone explain the meaning of this sentence and the meaning of "thus" in this sentence for me? Also, why is this question is labeled as "modification error," why? I don't see dangling modifiers here :(

If you get rid of “thus” you get:
Howl, inaugurating both…

“Howl” inaugurates something. so inaugurating is modifying Howl.

A is too wordy
B doesn’t make any sense because it would need to say “which inaugurated both”
C is pretty much a new sentence
D is wrong because Howl is not a person
