<p>cornell is need-blind for admissions for both freshmen and transfers. I didn't get crap for financial aid, but i guess if i'm fortunate enough to have parents who can pay for everything with a personal check, then i dont deserve any aid to begin with. </p>

<p>and by curved - do you mean student's grades are curved up (given a few extra points) before the final grades, or that the grade distribution reflects that of a bell curve?</p>
<p>my parents dished out approximately 43,000 for me this year, i didn't even apply for financial aid, but i read somewhere that cornell tries to give aid packages with about half grants and half loans....</p>
