Bc/bu

I'm looking to transfer to either Boston College or Boston University from American University in Washington DC. I am a freshman looking to apply for Fall 2008.

HS GPA: 3.4 UW (very upward swing...a 3.7 if you don't include freshman year), 11 AP classes (5 5's, 4 4's, 2 3's) and graduated from my school's flagship advanced program (well regarded public hs)
SATS: 2110 (710 CR, 690 M, 710 W)
SAT II: 750 Lit, 730 US History, 690 World History
ECs: captain of equestrian team (15-20 hours/week), some volunteer work with disabled students

College GPA: 3.94 (16 credits)
ECs: continued with equestrian team (still 10+ hours/week)

I know I can get good recs from professers and write a good essay articulating my reasons for transferring.

I have been in the political science program here and I'm looking to major in econ at another school that has a stronger program.

any help anyone?

You've got a good chance; I got into BC for freshman year with similar stats.

BC is pretty hard to get into as a transfer, only 10.5% were accepted last year. I've heard they have odd standards but you should look into that. However, I'd say you are practically a shoe in at BU.

Any more thoughts?

in at BU.

BC will really depend on your essay+q&as partly because your HS stats are average for BC and you only have 1 semester under your belt for college in addition to the fact that they only accept 10%. best of luck.

Definitely in at BU
