BC Chances?

Gonna make this quick cause I know long ones are sometimes annoying to read. I know we find out soon, just super nervous considering I got rejected from Northeastern yesterday.

GPA: 3.75 UW, 3.9 W (upward trend)
ACT: 30 ( 33 E, 33 R, 27 M, 28 S, 30 W)
Rank: HS doesn’t report, but it’s very competitive and counselor told me I was in top 20%
APs: AP US (4), AP Statistics, AP Macro, AP Bio

EC’s( main ones):
-Varsity Soccer 2 years
-Social Justice Committee 3 years
-Marine Biology Club 3 years
-Volunteer at a shelter (about 70 hours)

Also had a part-time job junior and senior year

Other:
-First gen college student
-Speak 2 languages (Dual Citizen)
-Income: Between $80,000 and $100,000
NY student applying to CSOM under finance

Supplement: 9/10 (attended a Jesuit high school)
Recs: 10/10, one of my teachers attended BC and wrote me an amazing rec
Essay: 8/10

Also, I haven’t visited the campus but I did speak to a rep at a college fair at my school, so I’m not sure how my demonstrated interest looks

Got deferred from CSOM with 3.77UW 4.5W & 2130 SAT & 800Korean/720BioM&USH.
Very strong ECs.
I mean, I thought I had a great chance but…

Dear knicktape98 : Boston College does not track visits or demonstrated interest. Given your 27/28 mathematics/science ACT combination and your lack of AP experience (one science, no calculus, no English, no language, one social science), you would seem to be in trouble in terms of academic depth.

Given that 85% of the freshman class is from the Top 10% of their High School class, you have another dagger in your candidacy. As New York candidate (very heavily represented) applying to CSOM (very competitive), this all adds up to a waitlist/rejection situation.

A rejection from Northeastern is a further sign that your essays, recommendations, and credentials might not be sufficiently attractive for Boston College.

@knicktape98 Did you get in?
