<p>Hey I’m a junior in CA, wondering about what shot i have</p>

<p>I’ve done a bunch of comm. service…stats:</p>

<p>SAT-2110 Math-700 Wri.-710 CR-700</p>

<p>SAT IIs: Span: 770 Lit: 710 </p>

<p>AP’s: Span- 5 Eng- 4 US History- 3</p>

<p>GPA: 3.4 (with hardest courses)</p>

<p>ECs listed on app: football, track, was in 2 clubs, and work</p>

<p>Job/Work Experience: did finances that were really receipts at a family friend’s company and also had a job too</p>

<p>Essays (subject and responses): already started so they should be very good- on two hardships that have come down on me the last 2 years, and my dealing w/ them. </p>

<p>Teacher Recs: better than great</p>

<p>Counselor Rec: great</p>

<p>School Type: Private, does not rank , in CA</p>

<p>Ethnicity: Hispanic</p>

<p>Gender:M</p>

<p>Also: Took 2 summer courses at a local comm. college- pysch and creative writing, both got A’s. and i also got 4 academic awards (not sure if it means much, but what the hell)</p>

<p>I think your chances are excellent. I'd say 100% or close to it.</p>

<p>gsw fan- i'd say you're in the clear. i got accepted this year, and i'm hispanic, your SAT is alot higher than mine, my gpa is a little higher than yours (also, most difficult course load... like... ever), also took 3 APs junior year (got 4s on all of them, yours are pretty much the same). its never 100%, but i wouldn't stress about it. what other schools are you applying to? UCs?</p>

<p>GPA's a bit low...pull it up a bit and all signs lead to an acceptance.</p>

<p>Your overall GPA is on the low side for BC, and you should put some extra effort into pulling it up before you apply. But your GPA is also offset by a rigorous curriculum, good AP test scores, and those A's in your community college courses. Your SAT scores are very good. You have sports, community service, work experience, and good recs. I'd say you stack up very favorably against BC's student profile, so you should have an excellent chance at admission.</p>

<p>everythings gonna get tougher next year. the gpa is too low. chances iffy at best.</p>

<p>smoltz08 has a good point, but I think he's being a bit pessimistic. The GPA might kill you, but URM status might save you. See if you can bring it up to a 3.5+ at the least. As it stands, I think you stand a fair chance, but better than fair's always preferable, non?</p>

<p>For a bit of perspective, I had a 3.9 without ever taking an AP/honors class, and I got in. That makes me think the GPA counts for quite a bit regardless of course difficulty.</p>

<p>I think you have a very good chance, however the issue of the GPA is important to note because several good students with your stats from my son's high school did not get in for the class of 2012, they had great SAT's like yours and great EC's but they had lower than a 3.7 GPA (3.7 or higher at our school designates graduating with honors) .Best of Luck to you.</p>

<p>i'm not sure about your chances...i know that this year was verrrrry difficult for us current seniors.</p>

<p>Essays: pretty good essays on learning the truth of leadership, and on the experience of my missions trip to Peru</p>

<p>i ended up getting waitlisted from BC. i go to a private school in CA with only 95 other students in my grade. and it's highly competitive...12 people in my class got in to BC, while the rest (don't know the #) got waitlisted and rejected. of course, none of those accepted at my school are attending BC, so hopefully i can get off the waitlist</p>
