Struggling to choose between BC or Mcgill business.

My main concerns with McGill are getting a job in the US, and the lack of guidance. Plus, my impression is that you sacrifice the typical American college experience at McGill.

My main concerns with BC are the core curriculum and rumors of a fairly homogenous student body. If my IB exams go according to plan, I can place out of everything except theology, philosophy, and history, which are the 3 I’m least looking forward to.

Can anybody offer any insight?
I’ll hear back from Georgetown tomorrow, which will make the decision even tougher if that happens. Also, I have a full ride to Northeastern which is pretty hard to pass up too. WHERE AM I GOING TO GO TO COLLEGE?!?!

I was deciding between both schools and to be honest, I wish I went to McGill. However, our reasons are pretty different. I love BC so much, don’t get me wrong, and I’m having a wonderful time, but I would have loved to be in Montreal and be speaking French and almost ‘studying abroad’ for four years. I also want to live in Quebec when I’m older so that was a selling point.

I got wait listed at McGill and accepted at BC, so I was initially ****ed but now I have no regrets. McGill would have been amazing but BC has been great as well.

One thing I noticed when I was trying to transfer (never did, glad I didn’t) was that McGill had a much more specialized kind of undergrad program. Since you wouldn’t really take a core there, the majors had a ton of classes. Here you only take about 10 for the major, so a lot of people end up double majoring since its pretty easy. It seems like at McGill it would have been really hard haha.

Also you would get to McGill and be instantly allowed to drink, while at BC you kind of have to wait until you’re a junior/senior to start going to bars unless you have a fake.

Overall you seem like you would like BC more, if you want to live in the US at least.
