So im a white male from Oregon.
My sats are 730-cr, 710-m, 650-wr.
Sat II- 730-World History, 650- Math II
My unwieghted gpa is 3.96 with 5 AP’s.
Good extra curiculars and good essays/letters of rec.
I have aplied early to BC, just wondering if i should hold my breath…tahnks!

They accept about 40% of EA applicants, I’ll be surprised if you are one of them.

EA’s gotten tougher at BC and many other top universities this year. Check out this article from the WSJ. In your case, I think you will be deferred, but maybe you have great EC’s and other factors. Good Luck!
[Early-Admission Dominos Fall - WSJ.com](http://online.wsj.com/article/SB119500475582092218.html?mod=pj_main_hs_coll)

I don’t understand the reasoning behind such negative responses.

BC’s website states that students with the best chances for admission “have followed a rigorous academic program and shown stellar classroom performance.” Certainly 5 AP’s and an unweighted GPA of 3.96 would qualify there.

Also, the OP’s test scores are near the high end of the range for the students BC admitted last year. The OP has a combined SAT score of 2090: BC’s mean was 2061 and the middle 50% was 1910-2110. Also, his CR subscore (730) and his math subscore (710) are over/at the top end of BC’s middle 50%: 610-710 for CR and 630-720 for math. And his writing subscore (650) is still in the middle 50%: 620-710.

With good EC’s, essays, and recommendations, I’d say he has a better than 50/50 chance of EA admittance.

I agree Worried Mom. With those statistics, they certainly seem to be in the group of students with a real shot at EA. The reality is, no matter what your statistics, the selection process is still a bit of a crap shoot. Many many kids with grades and test scores well in the range of the school are not accepted every year. If it was only the scores, the process would be easy. They would simply list everyone above a certain GPA and SAT or ACT score and draw the line when they had enough kids. Truth is, they don’t do it that way. With our older daughter we learned that very smart kids get denied at schools they have every reason to think they will get into. And vice versa.
Good luck to all!

hey thanks all for the responses, (especially the latter two) haha any one else wanna gimme their thoughts?

i think you have a very good shot of being admitted EA. i was with a little lower GPA and a little higher SATs last year
