Sid, there is snow on the ground pretty much all the time from early December until say... like March. This is a particularly cold winter, but other than one big storm it hasn't been a particularly snowy one

Yes you can do a dual major from 2 different schools---I did! Education major with 2 additional majors in English and Linguistics. You have to talk to the Deans in order to get it through...BE SUPER NICE TO THE DEAN'S SECREATARY IN CSOM! SHE CAN BE CRAZY MEAN! If you are nice to her, you are golden.

On a scale of 1-100 how diverse is BC?

How could I request a single/double/triple room? (i have the form but i dont see where you can specify the type of room, so im guessing its random?)

if you could use one word to describe the student population what would it be?

Who taught most of your classes TA's or Prof's or Both? and to what degree?

I got accepted into CSOM and i was wondering, how many credits are you allowed to take outside of your college?

thanks alot, I appreciate your help :)

On a scale of 1-100 how diverse is BC? - 60-70. I am not white or Catholic, and I have found that the amount of clubs BC offers for diversity is just amazing. Once you step outside your comfort zone and meet other people, youll find diversity. However, if you let yourself drown in the "BC is an all-white" school stereotype, you wont find any diversity. Its all about finding it, and its easy with all the clubs that BC offers.

How could I request a single/double/triple room? (i have the form but i dont see where you can specify the type of room, so im guessing its random?) - I dont think you can, but maybe you can attach a letter. You can get stuck in a forced triple if you request upper, but theres no forced triples on newton. Most rooms are doubles, with a few triples and some quads here or there. There arent many singles, but there are some.

if you could use one word to describe the student population what would it be? - Spirited

Who taught most of your classes TA's or Prof's or Both? and to what degree? - Profs, but some classes TA's hold discussion sections.

I got accepted into CSOM and i was wondering, how many credits are you allowed to take outside of your college? - Not sure, the BC website may have this info...

for me it was at a 100 for diversity (I came from a city that was 90% caucasion!). But compared to other schools Id say a 70?

You complete the form, call housing, find a really darn good reason why you need your request. SUCH AS: your extracurricular plans (there was NO WAY I would have been able to play a college sport and live on Newton without losing my sanity and always being late), but if you call with a request and state a GOOD reason with support, you may get what you want.

OUTGOING--a big front runner school (if bball isnt winning--don't expect a large crowd in Conte), however most students are very busy with activities, clubs, academic clubs and social events.

I never had a TA in 4 years.

I think its only 5 a semester.

thanks for your responses everyone, i appreciate your insights :)

is it possible for me to submit an application after Jan. 2 (deadline)?

your welcome,

Dont submit a late application. thats just not smart

does that mean that i have no chance of getting in, since it's impossible for me to submit an app before Jan. 2? (school's closed during the break---but i still need to send in a part of the app. that's not online: my transcripts, letters of rec, etc.)

You should have been more specific. YOUR part of the application, the part that you can and SHOULD do online is due on the deadline. The Transcript/teacher rec's can be a little late.

Colleges come back from their breaks and see piles and piles of mail which they have to sort and put togehter. Colleges are lenient when it comes to the school's part of the application but are strict with your part.

thanks, but does the mailing have to be postmarked before Jan.2?

yes, postmarked by the deadline.

so, in other words, i have no chance rt? is there nothin i can do?

Random question: does anyone know what kind of things are allowed in the dorms? For example, can I bring a George Foreman grill?
