I'm having so much difficulty with this. I feel Middlebury has academics, but I really like the environment of BC (I dislike how Midd is in the middle of nowhere and gets really cold). Both have beautiful campuses.

Can I get some input?

It’s important to realize that if you are involved in the school newspaper or the blog, in a music performing group (which Middlebury has many of), playing a sport, participating in theater and/or involved in a club, you really don’t go into town much wherever your college is. There are so many things going on on the Middlebury campus. So I would go with the stronger academics. Weatherwise, at least at Middlebury you can ski (on the school’s own mountain) and sled when it snows. In Boston you can’t do as much that’s fun when it snows-- and it does snow there. In bigger urban schools you might also find less bonding among the students, but try to stay overnight and see.

Boston is so fun, and there are plenty of smart people at BC.There is a great alumni network as well.
Saying that, a family friend is at BC, and not a drinker, and feeling lost right now. Loves Boston, but isn’t sure she wants to be at BC anymore. She thinks the social life is pretty heterogeneous, and the kids cliquey.
S at Midd loves it, he wanted to be in Boston at Harvard, but is so busy with extracurriculars at Midd, he doesn’t feel the lack of city life. He does ski, though.
