Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew about music at BC (how good it is hahah) I’ve heard the marching band and they sound great but I cant really find anything about the orchestra, and was wondering if BC had a percussion ensemble? I’m thinking of minoring in music, or doubling majoring w/ possibly english.
Thankss

What a timely question. Just attended the Boston College Symphonic Band Spring Concert (as a parent of a performer), which opened with a performance of the BC Percussion Ensemble - “Concerning Hobbits”

The Pep Band got to attend the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament in Greensboro, Hockey East, and the National Championships in Detroit.

when I went to the admitted eagle day I saw a presentation by the band director & talked to some BCMB kids afterwards. I may be wrong but the general understanding that I got was that BC approaches music from a liberal arts standpoint. Meaning that you have a lot of freedom to tree new instruments & stuff that you never did before but the in general the music programs don’t seem that serious (marching band only has two 2hour rehearsals per week).
