I have narrowed down my schools to these two, but now I’m stuck. Here are my pro-con lists for both schools… please tell me what you think!

I want to go pre-med, by the way, and am in the College/Arts and Sciences at both schools.

Georgetown:
~Better overall university (I think)
~Good medical school (plus the early acceptance program)
~I love the campus!
~I loved the atmosphere when I visited!
~DC!!!

BC:
~I LOVE the campus!
~I really liked my visit there.
~I LOVE Boston very, very much.
~Boston, again. It’s like the ultimate college town!
~I got in the honors program, which sounds really interesting.

They are very similar IMO. I visited both, and personally, I like BC’s campus better. Gtown definitely has the prestige over BC, but I don’t think their academics are that much stronger than BC’s (I know people that go to both schools). For me, I’d rather go to BC (boston, campus). Both schools are great and i’m sure you would love both. congrats on getting into excellent schools.

First off, I’d like to congratulate you on making both schools. You should go with what you want to take out of your college experience. You should also think about the workload at the two schools and the type of competition between students of the two schools. I for one am glad I am attending BC. Oh and one other thing to think of should be the environment around the campus. Good luck on making your decision.

Does gt have the same support for it’s pre-med students. We went to a presentation at BC on this and it was an excellant support system. Also, what % of premed students are accepted into med schools? those are the questions I would ask. I toured both campuses and there is a different feel to both of them. You should ask yourself where you would personally fit the best as this is where you will be happiest, irrespective of the “prestige”.

GTown does have the prestige, but if you are focused on med school I would say go to the school where you think you will be able to do the best and where you will learn the most, not what will impress people the most. In terms of your career as a doctor, where you went to med school will be the only thing that matters, and that will get determined by your gpa and mcat scores. BC has a strong pre-med, and GTown may as well. If you feel that BC is the place for you, come here, don’t by guided by prestige. If the differences were bigger, I would say GTown hands down, but they are both considered elite schools, GTown is just a little more elite. That said, Boston is generally more fun and a lot more safe than DC, which is where I’m from. Georgetown is in the funnest area, but everything there closes down by 9 and bars are equally strict there and here with fake IDs. Both will give you good internship opportunities. BC has an early med school acceptance program with Tufts.

I also think BC honors is about as prestigious at GTown, it’s certainly equally difficult to gain admissions to.

How “prestigious” is the Honors program at Boston College? How good of a program is it? I have heard different things about it, and would like more information. What is the Honors program like?
