I can’t decide between Boston College and NYU. I intend to major in applied psychology, but the two schools are so different. The atmosphere in BC is something I’m more accustomed to, however NYU seems to offer a lot of opportunities, but at the same time I’m not sure if I can handle such a large change, especially because I haven’t gone to the east coast before. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
With respect to academic considerations, NYU offers a notably strong psychology program.
I hope you were able to visit both campuses before the shutdowns because they are very different. Do you want a strong Catholic Jesuit presence in your buildings and classrooms and a campus that is more set aside from a city or a more secular feeling with a campus that is right in the heart of a very diverse city? NYU is incredibly expensive and stingy with financial aid so you will likely have more wealthy classmates. With BC I think you are more likely to have classmates who went to private Catholic high schools. Where do you think you would fit in better?
