How would you compare the religious life on campus between BC and Georgetown?

These comparison threads don't work for issues of student culture/life. Students only go to one college. Just ask about religious life separately at both Georgetown's and BC's threads and compare them yourself. :)

Well, let me jump on that one, if I may. Georgetown is a Jesuit college in name only. It is perhaps the most secular of all Jesuit schools, followed closely thereafter, shockingly by Holy Cross.

BC and Fordham BOTH have a stellar atmosphere for kids desiring to study Theology, experience a spiritual life while on campus, and still have a good time.

So depending on what you desire, whether its more spirituality and Jesuit influence or less....to the point of being nearly 100% secular, you decide.

There is an excellent book on the market called Getting Into the Right College that has the most commentary about student life, professors (even stating whether they are leftist or moderate or right wing), by a respected Professor at George Mason, Walter W. In that book he gave some excellent points of reference about a variety of student life factors beyond the usual "drinking coffee and playing frisbee" comments you normally read.

If International Relations is your bag, then Georgetown may be your choice. If theology is your bag, then BC has a SUPERB theology department, I understand.

Neither BC nor Fordham however are overly religious. Its there if you want it, its not if you don't, but the Jesuit ethos is ever present...their academic rigor, their emphasis on liberal arts, and service to humanity.
