I’ve been accepted to BC-Carroll, Lehigh-College of Business and Econ, Fordham-College of Business Administration and waitlisted at NYU-Stern. NYU has been my dream school, but I’m not really getting my hopes up for the waitlist… which leaves me with BC, Lehigh and Fordham (which was a safety, so I guess just Lehigh and BC). which school do I choose??? I’m not really familiar with BC or Lehigh’s reputation as business schools… which is ranked better/better jobs after college? I visited Lehigh yesterday and didn’t really like the fact that it is kinda in the middle of nowhere and very few minorities (I’m asian). Based on just this, I would be leaning towards BC, but then I got the Dean’s Scholarship (10,000/yr) and $2600 worth of loans from Lehigh. No money from BC at all… what do you think is the better choice???

Oh and this is kinda the wrong forum, but can anyone predict my waitlist chances at NYU??? Last year they said 60/1600 got accepted off the waitlist, but I’m hoping it will be more this year because it seems a lot of people applied to NYU without the intention of enrolling and got accepted… Does my assumption seem reasonable, or should I just abandon all hopes of Stern?

BC is better and more prestigous than Lehigh, hands down. The financial situation all depends on you, BC is stingy with financial aid, giving me less than half of what NYU gave me. Carroll is quite famous. Stay on the waitlist at NYU, theres always a chance. Good luck.

i do believe NYU is notoriously stingy with it's fin aid as well.

Also, don't get your hopes up about minorities at BC... they're there of course, just not a lot of them.

Of course, your quality of life is a huge factor. If it's coming down to these, it's dificult to make a distinction based on prestige alone (though if i was going to, it'd be 1)Stern 2)Carroll 3)Leigh)

My vote would be to accept at either BC or Leigh (depending how big of a factor fin aid is) and stay on at NYU.

In the meantime, send NYU a letter expressing your interest, and update them on any accomplishments.

thanks suubie and pongo.. now i'm about 85% sure that i'll be sending my deposit into BC. and still cross my fingers for stern (i've already written them a letter about how much i reeeeeally wanna go and such lol). i know also that nyu is known to be stingy with aid, but my dad's employer pays half the tuition for all the ivies + nyu/UC's/and other colleges they think are "world renowned" they call it. i put that on my letter to nyu also, so maybe they won't be hesitant about accepting me because of fin aid, hopefully!!!!
thanks again :]
