BC vs Mich vs UNC

Here in ACC country, football takes a back seat (a way back seat) to basketball – so the fight songs we’ve heard a lot are those of UNC, Duke, and other power teams like Kentucky and UConn (although I couldn’t hum any of those others either). So, no, I can’t recall having heard Michigan’s recently. Hmm … perhaps back in 1993.

Ditto this. The most press Michigan got in NC was when App State beat them. They even have a little shrine to that game in the App student union, or they did a few years back…I personally found that a little sad.</p>

Moreover, in football there’s lots of dead time during which to hear another team’s fight song. Basketball moves too quickly for that, and most of us real fans discuss stats and strategy during the breaks; we don’t spend too much time listening to the music.

<p>As for the original question, decide whether you want a school near a big city (BC) or schools in smaller cities (Michigan, UNC). Also decide between a small/medium private (BC) and large publics (Michigan, UNC). Between Michigan and UNC, I’d say personal preference. Michigan has stronger programs and a better national reputation, but they’re both fantastic schools.</p>
