BC vs. UVA

Hey all, im very torn between these two schools…

factors to leave out - money, campus

facots to factor (bad wording?) - business program… and how i applied to UVA engineering

so this is my problem. I cant decide btwn bc and uva. I made it into Bc’s CSOM (management school) and UVA’s engineering school. I contacted the dean and he said he would let me transfer but i am just thinking about majoring in engineering and minoring in business. I was wondering which school you guys thought would be better to attend/more prestige. I know this is a BC forum but minus the bias, what do you guys really think? thanks so much!

majoring in engineering? why would you consider BC?

I think they're pretty comparable, really (from an academic standpoint). I'd probably give a slight edge to BC, just because when it comes to internship and job time, it is very helpful to be in Boston and have NYC right next door...

even though money doesnt matter, uva is a state school and will probably be 20k cheaper for you even if youre out of state

you have to apply to McIntire (uva's business school) when youre a sophomore, and its not a gurentee you get in

if you want to do engineering, there's no engineering program at bc...

There actually is an engineering track at BC (shocker, I know). It's a BC-BU dual-degree program. You go to BC for three years taking math, sciences, and liberal arts classes. You will then get automatically transferred to BU and do the last two in engineering. Beside that, there isn't anything engineering at BC alone.
