If it's offered by the math department, almost certainly.

its offered by the biostats department at the public health school....but math doesnt have to be offered by the math department right?

I'm not sure how they'd handle a "Biostatistics" class. Courses which actually teach math are offered in a host of departments: physics, economics, finance, public health. Unfortunately, AMCAS generally pays more attention to the department that offers the course than the actual content matter of the course itself. So advanced statistics courses within an economics department are considered economics, not statistics; neuroscience offered by psychology is considered psychology while the EXACT SAME COURSE offered by biology is considered biology. Etc.
