Just wondering, how many internal transfer applicants for BCSA (Bachelor of Comp. Sci. and Arts) are there each semester?

Also, is 36-217 Probability Theory and Random Processes a hard class? How about Modern Biology (03121)? Would a sophomore have too much trouble handling both while taking Concepts of Math?

you can definitely do those three classes all together, provided you are reasonably good at math and you can memorize as necessary for bio. 217 and concepts will have a bit of overlap in probability, so for grade padding purposes you could also choose to take 217 later – but really there is no reason you couldn’t do both now

As of spring 2012, approximately 12% of the (several hundred) high school students applying to the CMU School of Art are also BCSA applicants. Of these, only 3 to 5 students are accepted into BCSA per year. There is a total of approximately 20 BCSA undergraduates at any time.

Additionally, about 2-4 students attempt to transfer internally each year. Usually one or two of these students are able to make a convincing case for transfer.

Approximately 1 BCSA student per year transfers ‘back’ to being a pure CS or Art major. It’s a challenging degree program.
