I heard a rumor that we need to bring our high school diploma. Can anyone confirm/deny?

I don't think we need our diploma, your transcript should show that you graduated. I'm carrying my transcript there just in case my mailed one didn't get through.

Ive said this before, and Ill say it again: bring your cell phone. Some will recommend against this on the basis that you don't need it, that you can have your parents bring it to you shortly after you graduate from BCT, or that it will get taken away and possibly lost by the cadre. I am glad I brought mine to basic because I used it on several occasions. Once, they were supposed to provide us all a call home, but didn't have enough land lines so they let us get out our cell phones. I also used it on doolie day out, and immediately after graduating. Trust me, when you are finally aloud to use a phone, you won't want to wait several days for it to get shipped to you. Finally, there is very little chance of it actually being lost. The cadre will take it from you and keep it in a secure location. You will not get in trouble for bringing it.

definitely don't worry about the diploma, I never got one till it was mailed to my house up north in october. and i wouldn't worry about the transcript, bring it if you want, but you're already in, stuff like passport and academy forms are the paperwork they're looking for

Don't bring cleats. Or a calculator, unless you want a TI-83 for later in the year, you can't use it on the placement exams. You'll be issued a calculator, and that is the only one you can use on tests. They call it an Honor-lator...I never needed my birth certificate, but bring it anyways I guess...

I have a TI-89... can I bring it if I have a very powerful "honor-lator"? I only had it for one semester, and it was muy expensive... hope I can bring it.

...if we don't have a SS card, but have something with our number on it, like an old expired passport, will that be good enough? Anyone know? Admissions counselor seemed to think so.

My understanding is that the "honor-later" is a basic scientific calculater with no programs or goodies. It just does what needs to be done and nothing else.

Don't bring molded cleats. You don't need them.

The honor calculator is a standard calculator that the wing switched to a few years ago to standardize what everyone uses in core classes for exams. It will be issued to you, so don't worry about it. You can use other calculators for homework and such, unless otherwise stated, but unless it says to do so in the paperwork, you don't need to bring one to BCT at all.
