BCT question

So i was starting to wonder about BCT is it training all day from the time we wake up to the time we go to bed? Is there other stuff we do during the day? I’m just really curious to know what we’re going to be doing everyday besides all of the marching and training. Is there other stuff we do during basic training?

You eat sometimes. Oh, and sleep, they occasionally let you do that.

Ooh, and briefings, right?

I think eating and sleeping are some of those fun things that you don't get until second semester.

Don't kid yourself... you don't get to sleep until after you graduate. ;)

Can someone answer the person's question instead of making jokes all the time? Really, people on this board never seem to give stright answers... I'd answer but I haven't done it yet so I unfortunately don't know what happens. I'd like to know as well...

Chill out, dude. Seriously. It's our choice what we want to post, and I'd say most of these answers are VERY informative. You can say what you want about me, but UN has been more help to this forum than everyone else combined. So, shut it, homes.

Yeah, chill gglock08...the thread starter even got in on the jokes.

Yeah, chill gglock08...the thread starter, the person who originally asked the questions, even got in on the jokes. You'll always get the answer, you just have to be a little patient sometimes.

Wow I don't need to chill, do you see me yelling or anything? I just said to answer his question. Sure it's fun to joke but at least give useful information. And I never said anything bad about UN or anyone specific so don't say I'm attacking anyone. I think you all love being superior to others so if anyone says something that even slightly critisizes you, you attack them. I don't think telling someone to shut it is very mature either... I simply asked for someone to provide an actual answer, because so far no one said anything even the slightest bit useful.

Tactical Nuke... Every time you seem to post lately it's a smart-ass, wise crack... How about you tone it down a little dude... You act like your some kind of super cadet and you haven't even been sworn in yet... You've been a jerk to gglock and FutureUSAFApilot... How about you chill yourself down. Hopefully you lose some of your "awesomeness" before Basic.. I can see you pimpin your classmates

Here's the flat-out straight answer as to what you will be doing every day in BCT: whatever you are told, when you are told, in the manner you are told. (While you're awake, between meals, expect to have some briefings, some marching, some placement tests, some physical training, some uniform/room cleaning/perfecting, some inspections, some courses (in 2nd BCT), "some" pushups and running, and some other stuff.) You will be busy the entire day.

Thanks UN.

Guys, nobody is going to tell us exactly what we'll be doing. Watch the BCT DVD, see some online pics and vids, and you'll get a decent idea.

Besides, who cares, it's not going to be "fun" either way, it's going to be hard and rewarding.

Squawk, if you have a problem with my posting, PM me. I have 317 posts here, you're talking about perhaps 5 of them. And seriously, considering you know me "over the internet", don't tell me how you think I will act in Basic. It takes a WEE bit more than a bit of ASCII to figure that out.

Sensitive board today. Some liberals get bored at the Berkeley forum and decide to come over here?

I hope you’re my roommate...

Why's that? We'll get along great, you know it.

Here's a few more things I remember hearing my cadet talk about: told when to drink water, how long to shower, how to talk and walk, what responses you are allowed to make to demands or questions from the cadre. For most of Beast, the basics were not allowed to sit down in their rooms. She learned how to write letters in the dark and from inside the closet. It sounded like there was very little down time. Sunday mornings sounded a little more at ease.

In the dark?? Wow.

Tactical, gg, rest of you...I'm a complete outsider to your little "conversations", haven't been paying attention to who you guys are, what you say, or what's been going on for the last couple days. I just came on after a few days off and saw all this...so take this as objective opinion.

All of you need to realize that one of the most important pieces of your experience at this Academy is going to be the people you communicate and bond with. They are going to be the ones that get you through and give you a good time.

If you start burning bridges now, you're in for a heck of a time in the Academy and in the real deal. People are your most valuable resource, and your best support. Don't abuse them.

Okay, let's /therapy session.

The worst part is the morning and the banging on the door to get you up. Basically during the first half you are getting the military mindset beat into you. Marching , eating, how to twirl your rifle, saluting properly on and on and on, the only fun thing was sports. First BCT is boring as hell, but second Bct is more enjoyable this is when you do all the courses and a lot more physical training. You'll make your closets friends during that time. Main thing is your gonna get yelled liste but don't let it get to you, and write home nothing is more exciting then mail. Trust me it sounds gay but its true.
