My Appointee Kit isn’t being sent out until next week. Does anyone know the exact amount of underwear, socks, etc. that is required for BCT? Also, is there anything else that you would recommend bringing for BCT?

You will be issued all of those items. You really don't NEED to bring anything, but there are certain things you can bring to make life a little easier (electric razor, etc)

Less greasy sunscreen is nice.

gentlemen: the OP is a FEMALE. You should bring 8 prs white panties, 8 sports bras (also white), and feminine products of your choice. In addition, bring a razor...

Redhead will know better, but that's the gist.

redhead will know better(only cause i blocked most of basic out, JK), but I i think it would have been nice to have maybe a couple more then they recommend, laundry is sometimes slow especially in jacks and you get really dirty there. Oh and get what ever kind of white underwear you want, just be reasonable, they don't have to be granny panties if you don't want them.

Just to make it clear, potter is talking about what the girls need to bring (if that wasn't obvious enough already). Patriot is talking about what guys need to bring. Hope that clears any confusion.

haha whoops. sorry.

A brush and comb, unless you want to wait to buy them in the C-store (not recommended for those girls who need a brush to keep their hair in regulations straight away). Hair gel is nice too if you need it.

Potterfan,

...sorry to get even more personal, but since the subject came up--do girls also bring "regular" bras? If so how many? ...or do the girls wear the sporty ones every day?

Thanks!

They aren't really necessary, unless you really want one for Blues but you don't wear those that often. I didn't mind not haveing one and i don't think many girls had them.

Thanks for the quick response, Potter! Have a great summer!! You're almost finished! :) Congrats on a successful first year!

Can sunscreen be brought to bct or is it issued?

Sunscreen is issued.

guys: bring razers and paperwork. girls: bring bras and underwear. that's all we need, period.. for the bazillionth time :) hehe

Tht's the way I like it, sweet and simple... I am gonna bring an electric razor and a regular one, just in case I cant charge the electric one... ;)

Lets say I wear a nice pair of shoes to I-Day...Do our civies get taken away until after, or do we keep them? And lets say these are a running shoe, am I allowed to wear em right after basic or is it a recognition thing? Just curious...;)

After basic you can have your normal shoes. You will probably need them since the issued shoes are about dead by the end of BCT.

Alrighty, buy a new pair of shoes before I-Day... Check ;)

i still wear my issued shoes when i run or hike :p

but then again, they're beat and have no cushioning anymore, and i wear my own pair when i go out
