Im trying to decide between BE at Penn or BME at Johns Hopkins. To me, it basically comes down to either having a fantastic BME from Hopkins, or Penn, which has an overall excellent school with a BE program (not BME) that is still in the top 10.

Which do you think would be the better one to choose? I'm not really looking to going into the industry, but more to take BME/BE as a sort of pre-med into Med School.

Thanks!

I’m having a difficult decision myself with something like this. I’ve got between Penn and some highly ranked computer science and physics schools. However, I’ve pretty much decided I’m going to Penn. It still has a decent program, yet I can get a broader education. And if you go to grad school, your undergrad’s ranking doesn’t matter that much.

look at school culture and atmosphere; many of my friends and i decided we liked penn more than hopkins, so we turned down hopkins bme for penn be

But as a pre-professional program for Med School, is there really one that “outshines” the other?

I’m definitely leaning towards Penn for overall excellence of academics and atmosphere, but I’m feeling pretty bad about giving up the #1 BME program…

they’re probably equivalent except for the fact that penn med likes penn undergrads, hopkins med doesn’t like hopkins undergrads (or so the rumor goes)
