ill also have really good teacher recs and a great essay, etc. im visiting later this summer and i have 1 or 2 contacts. i know getting into brown is a crapshoot these days but please let me know what you think! (any other suggestions for schools are welcomed as well)

I think you have a pretty good shot. None of the stuff that you posted is especially distinguishing, but then again, there are a lot of people who get in with the same stats and similar activities. To be honest, your GPA is a little bit on the weak side, but you have taken the most challenging courseload.

I'd recommend you to retake the ACT in September, so that you won't even need to send in any of your SAT scores. It would have been better if you had taken MathIIC rather than Math I, because in that sense, your only truly good SAT subject score is US History. If you can score 34+ on the ACT, then that would solidify you enough.

Your essays are going to be crucial to you being admitted. I think it would be interesting to write one on you being a docent at the historical home, if you want to emphasize your passion for history. This would be better than an essay on community service; I'm currently here at Brown for a summer program and had the chance to speak to an admissions officer--he said that community service has lost its resonance in the admissions process, as so many schools require service hours for graduation.

The admissions officer also said that Brown still utilizes a "number" system. Each person is ranked from 1-6, with 6 being the best: Academics/Non-Academics.
I'd say you are a 4/4 or 4/5, which if I remember correctly according to his chart, gives you a 60% or 70% chance, respectively.
^ I do know for sure that a 5/5 is 75%, and a 5/6 is 80%.

Of course, if you're a legacy, URM, or recruited athlete, you can probably add 10-20% to the basic percentage.
