Be Honest- What are my chances

Hello
I am applying to college this year, and I would LOVE to attend an ivy league school. No, it is not for the name, but rather the opportunities at these institutions tend to be superb. What are my chances at ANY of the 8 ivy schools. honestly.

GPA:
W-4.6
UW- 3.6 (these should go u after mid year, I have all A's rn)
(Huge upward trend junior year, and so far senior year. Huge as in massive. I got one C sophomore year and some B's sophomore/freshman year but pulled off a tremendous junior year.
Rank 47/424 ~11% but that should be a bit higher by mid year reports.
AP classess: 10-12 depending on next semester

ACT: 28, awaiting october scores but I dont think it went well, maybe 29, 30 at most :/

Extracurriculars: these are what make me somewhat approachable. I have a TON but I won't list all. Be in mind that my focus/intent is science so I tried focusing on these EC all throughout HS, however, I am also well rounded in the arts.

Science Olympiad, 4 years, President
Health Occupations Students of America - Board of Leadership
National Youth Health Advisory Council - National Board Position
National Honor Society, Secretary
National Technical Honor Society
Marching Band - Senior 4 year veteran, numerous awards, alto sax 8 years
Town Community Service Oganization (700+ members), 7 years, 2 time executive board member
Town of ______ Arts Committee (only student working with a group of 15+ adults involving the arts of my city)
Town of ______Environmental Committee ^^ for environment. Again only student on this board
Prestigious hospital volunteering (don't wanna say hospital for privacy reasons), 3 years
Internship in Latin America at hospitals doing research and work
--> what really helps me is my Internship this past summer at a governmental lab of public health doing research and working in a variety of sectors. One of my additional recommendations is coming from the director of this lab. i did lots of work and activties and I presented to the lab staff, etc.
Numerous summer science activties that are tuition free etc, meaning I didn't pay my way into them
Art- I have been painting and selling artwork at stores around my state for the past 6 years
Cultural Dance - have been culturally dancing for the past 6 years, performing annually. Also, I am a male dancer, not something very common tbh
Tutor students: founded my own tutoring company, tutor 4 students currently from Algebra to Calculus
...I have others, but not as important

Awards:
Several science olympiad regional medals
Hosa- placed at state conference(medaled), national qualifier
some AP scholar distinction thing?
---some others?

Essays:
I thought my common app essay was awesome. I would give it a 9.5/10, possibly 10/10. alot of ppl really liked it.
my supplements fo the schools I have applied to so far seem decent, 8/10? 9/10?

Also, I am indian which sucks because of the whole ORM thing, but yeah.
what are my shots? for any ivy schools regular decision. and then vanderbilt, emory, nyu, pepperdine, berkley,

oh also I am part of a health science academy which is extremely focused. I wrote that in the aditionaly comments in common app. It is basically an additional academy in my school, and by the time I graduate I will be a certified pharm technician. Also my recommenders love me, so I think those along with GC will be awesome.

Not high, like at all. low GPA and ACT. Essay is the only thing you have going for you, also you misspelled “hopeful” in your username

@alden97 I know…I did it like that on purpose…but thanks for feedback

anyone else?

Not very likely. ACT is low and GPA too for Ivies. Also, Ivies are not one type of schools. Finding out what kind of school you like not just for their fame.

I realize that…I am actually more interested in cornell, upenn, and dartmouth.

What is it about these schools that interests you so much? These are all extremely difficult schools to get into and I fear that you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you have your heart set on any of them. I say this, not because of your stats, but because anybody who applies is unlikely to be accepted. You have to understand that and then try to get excited about other schools. Remember anybody who applies to these schools has only a slim chance of acceptance. Also, just wondering if you have looked at the average stats for students accepted to these schools.

@njmom66

cornell: I am in love with the CALS school, also I know cornell has many research opps within this school which I wanna get in on
upenn/dartmouth: when I visited, they seemed to be the most liberal. and If I don’t get into a research intensive school as cornell, I would prefer going to a school such as these to get an interdisicip. edu rather than specific major like cornell CALS.

Yes I did look at avg stats, basically my act is around 1-2 points under the range of scores accepted etc. but the thing is, I HAVE studied so much, I am just an awful test taker, but I have put my heart and soul into these tests. but ik they are not everything, but they amount for a ton in the end.

@ivyhopefulebound. Your ACT score-gpa combo. is below the level to be accepted in all of the schools you’ve listed based on my high school’s Naviance system. Even with very good ECs, these schools are high reaches and you should have some backups. Did you apply ED/EA anywhere?

Much luck to you. Hopefully you have visited other schools and will find one or more that you can also become excite about. I’m not saying you won’t get into an Ivy (how would I know?) but you have to realize that NOBODY has good chances at acceptance and that includes all of those applicants who have stats at the upper end of the range. There are so many great colleges with so many great opportunities.
Best wishes and hang in there.

@connect1234 i applie ea several places… I already got in to one of my backup schools. awaiting on others. but now I am applying to all my reach schools. do you think it’s even worth me applying to these kinds of schools? are my ec even that good? I think they are, but idk

what about schools like emory-oxford, nyu, cmu, etc.

you would have a chance at maybe NYU and pepperdine

@ivyhopefulebound, Congrats on already getting in to a backup, that takes some pressure off. If your school uses Naviance or some other database to show you how previous classmates did, it is very helpful. Everyone’s got a chance and no one here knows better than you whether or not it is worth applying. NYU might be a match.

study until December and retake your ACT for regular decision dates. Go for the Hail Mary

@mlkenan15 @connect1234 thanks, wb oxford-emory program. i’ve been interested in that too. Also, mcgil? I have checked all stats on that also doesn’t mean anything. I know CC does not either but I wanna hear from others perspectives

I dont really have much knowledge on those schools! Sorry!

Get the test scores up and you’ll be a much more competitive applicant

Chance Back?>>

that’s fine. I’d like to hear from other people as well.

@ivyhopefulebound look at schools that are more in your target too - BU, BC, NYU maybe, UT…
