BE honest with me Help me!

Hello everybody!

I am super concerned with my situation. I would like to hear from you guys opinion. I moved to California because of independence and better weather. I am from GA and i was actually applying for Georgia Tech (had good chances followed the TAG GA version). I decided to move and live by myself in Cali and see how it is life without parents guidance. I decided to keep my education by going to a cc in santa monica. Well i had a 3.5 GPA from the college i came from and now with two C's god knows how my GPA got affected. Unsuccessfully got two C's taking biology 21 and 22 the past semester and i applied to the UC's (UCB, UCLA, UCD, UCI and UCSD) prior that. I had to worked my ass off last semester just to get my rent paid and eat. It was horrible plus out of state tuition. Well i am not bs-ing i did not have enough time to study and two bio together OMG was freaking crazy ... (dont do this guys unless your a genius, have time or u dont work at all) . Now i am taking the last bio in this semester (bio 23) and i think i can only get a B on it. I finished my IgetC requirements but as u can see my biology classes suck. BTW i changed my major from bioengineering to biology. I have A in all math related classes like physics and calculus... but my bio suck. FYI when I applied, biology was my first major and bioengineering my second choice.

I am realistic and i know UCB wont accept me anyways ... even though i was a president of a club, first generation college student and immigrant Latino (ESL), had scholarships, volunteer work, been a math tutor ... Well , now i loved LA as the city as it is. I would like to stay in UCLA and move in hollywood and have a pleasant life. Nevertheless, I am concerned they wont accept me neither for my second major. Probably, there are some chances of me getting in the others UC's but i am still in loved with LA.

So guys here is what i thought... wait for what they say(rejected) retake those classes and apply next fall(hey ill be in state by then) .... 1
Go to GA tech and get my bioengineering bachelors (give up) so cold there..... 2
Keep taking those classes right now and just wait what happens (crossing fingers) ... 3

Well what do you guys think ... UCLA is a no no right ? =( even after appealing ... (sad story)

Oh the reason i changed to biology was because i want to become a doctor. I was planning to do so after finishing my engineering major but someone convinced me that bio as major would be better (i prefer large integrals than reading the campbell's book)

just go back to GA. I dont want to offend you but your chances a quite low. 1 % chance just to be mean.

lol! I think I was in your bio 22 class with bober :)

Probably u were… we dont have much of a choice and hey fivekey are u done with bio 23? … lol and thanks toche i imagine i did not have a chance what about the other schools what u all think … and toche damn ur freaking mean (1%)

I need to take Chem 24/31, Bio 21, English 2, Physics 23/24. I took my biology in a weird way. I’m in Bio 23 right now.

As an MD who got his BS in Astronomy before going to medical school I can assure you that you do not have to major in Biology to get into medical school. I actually think a degree in Bioengineering would make you more competitive.

Unfortunately in your case, while you do not have to major in Biology to get into medical school you do have to take basic courses in Biology and you have to do well in them meaning an A or at least a B. A C in two introductory Biology courses is really going to hurt your chances of acceptance to any medical schools. If your school allows you to retake classes that you received a passing grade in, you should repeat these two courses and do not try to take them at the same time.
