I’ll cut to the point: in high school I performed poorly academically. I got a 3.4 GPA and a 24 ACT (towards the end of high school, I started caring. I got a 3.7 first semester and 3.9 the second).
Now, I’m a college student with high hopes of transferring. I believe I can have a 3.8 GPA after three semesters here at Eastern Michigan University. I will apply some time during December or January. I got a 3.7 last semester, and aim to do even better this semester. (Computer Science major, most likely physics minor) I’m involved on campus, am a part of the Honors program at my school, and will soon start volunteer work.
I’m wondering if I still have chances of getting into the schools that I now want to go to. Here’s a breakdown of the universities I’ve been looking at.
Safety Schools:
- Portland State University
- Temple University
- Western Washington University
- Stay at Eastern Michigan University
- Wayne State University
- Chicago State University
- University of Massachusetts Boston
- Suffolk University
Schools that I think I have a decent chance at (tell me if I’m wrong):
- Drexel University
- University of Colorado
- Michigan State University
- Syracuse University
- Pratt Institute
- Seattle University
- Western Washington University
- University of Buffalo, the State University of New York
- University of Massachusetts - Amherst
Reach schools (very little chance):
- University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
- Fordham University
- University of Washington
- University of Texas at Austin
- University of California Los Angeles
- Kettering University (?)
- Boston University
I’m sure you guys get questions like this all the time and I appreciate your consultation. Any advice/feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
