Bean boots

Okay, so I'm heading up to Maine soon and I'm not sure which Bean Boots I am going to get. I am a 16 year old female. I was thinking of getting the 8in ones without the thinsulate, etc. That allows me to have some color choice. I want your opinion on whether I should get the navy kind or the tan/brown kind. I know the tan will match everything, but I feel like the navy will be able to match most too. Which would you get? I'm only able to get one pair too. Thanks so much!:) PS any outfit recommendations to go along with the boots for the outdoorsy look?

^I got those for my bday [i live in MA]. get the tan/brown kind.

a good outfit for me is: sweater, jeans/cords, jacket [i prefer my plaid barbour jacket], scarf/hat/mittens

really you need two pairs, one of them being the ones that fall right at the ankles and then a higher pair. i as a guy have two pairs, one that are the low ones and then ones that go up halfway up my calf

By “the ones that fall at the ankle”, do you mean the moccasins? Okay, so tan or navy moccasins? Haha:)

If you are going to get brown boots then wouldn’t it make sense to get blue mocs?

When I went to Maine, I just wore the clothes I already had. Meh. I was, like, 10 though.
I’d go with tan, so long as it’s really tan and not brown.

If the moccasins are anything like mukluks, I’d get a million pairs. Otherwise, I’d get them in blue, I suppose.

How far north are you going?

As the only Mainer on this forum, I pretty much need to comment on everything where the word “Maine” is mentioned

Oh. Sorry, I meant I was going to Maine to go to the LL Bean flagship store. I’m not staying there-just going to the bean store there. And, the “tan” is actually brown- they just call it tan.

Personally, I think the mocs look ugly. Boots are the way to go [plus they’re better for snow].

Is brown regular bean boots like the standard that everyone gets?

What are bean boots?

Edit: looked them up and they look hideous

^lots of preppy people in new england wear them. they look good in outdoorsy-ish outfits.

Yep. I’ve seen navy mocs before [my friend has them]… thought they were ugly…

lots of people here have them, and they usually have the 6" or 8" brown/tan ones [sometimes tan/navy]. Mocs are pretty uncommon

The librarian at my school wears them, hot.

I love bean boots.

To all of you who say they’re ugly, check out Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall/Winter 2010 show. All his models are wearing heels inspired by bean boots.

Personally, I like the gum shoes and the 6" ones, but those might not be as practical as taller ones, and I prefer navy over tan.

They inspired my hatred towards the original ones :)

Aw, really? I like them. I do live in Massachusetts, though, which can be very preppy.

How would you describe your style, futurexecutive?

My style is all over the place. Preppy meets vintage, athletic, casual, chic, romantic, classic… It varies with my mood. Although it’s not uncommon for me to wake up and throw on a hoodie and jeans :)

I’ve never heard of a “romantic” clothing style-I must not get out much or something. Lol. Maybe you could explain, futurexecutive?

Haha I mean like soft/feminine pieces

I hate bean boots. They’re as ugly as ****.
