Berkeley also has some of their courses on itunes if you want to listen to them. Also, you didnt see any clubs at admit day that you liked?

I didn't see any clubs at either campus when I visited, except for the few members of HKN@EECS student panel. I know that some Berkeley clubs have done very notable things (GTK+ and Gimp). I think UCSD has TIES and Decaf, which look interesting.

A good length along University Walk was a huge aisle constiting of booths representing just some of the clubs and organizations. They had many different clubs, here are a few just to give you an idea of the variety: motorcycle club, College democrats and republicans (2 different clubs, of course, lol), the Gaurdian (the newspaper), Hillel, College Christians, LGBT club, role playing game club, and as bunch others, including major and career related ones

Actually, La Jolla is a city of it's own... the zip code is 92037. It's a big deal to those from La Jolla... :)

berkeley courses:

as for comparing berkeley to SD. i think SD is more beautiful in surrounding, but i feel that there are more stuff going on in berkeley. with easy access from berkeley to SF and oakland, i feel that berkeley has a lot more culture than SD area in general (art, music, plays etc) as for campuses, SD has one of the ugliest campuses i ever seen. the spaceship library kind of reminds me of berkeley architecture building...

overall, i think berkeley has more of a its own flavor, and SD is very blank. but man, beaches there are absolutely gorgeous. weather is really nice too.

Well, i dont kno too much about the culture surrounding berkeley so i cannot comment but for plays in sd the la jolla playhouse is world renowned, and Balboa Park has a good amound of culture, ~30 museums (and a very large organ). As for it being an ugly campus i wouldnt say its ugly, but then again i like the futuristic architecture (reminds me a bit of blade runner, lol), sure its not princeton (for those who have seen the campus), but I dont think berkeley and ucsd have a huge difference in the beauty of the campuses.

Dont forget the world famous San Diego Zoo.

so this is a beauty contest huh. i visited both when i applied to college, and recently visited UCSD because i was around the area. i have to say berkeley has a better campus. UCSD's lecture halls are very spread out and the architecture of buildings are brutalist style since it was most constructd about that time circa 70s. berkeley has a much diverse styles of building. from the greek white column style to red brick victorian style and of course some brutalist as evident in the architecture building and music library and to just down right ugly (the infamous Evans Hall). it is not so boring as UCSD. but i do like the snake pathway next to the UCSD library tho.

uhh, pretty much all of Earl Warren is new (within 2-3 years) + there is new stuff under construction all the time. If you look at google earth a good deal of the new warren (it was moved) isnt even finished yet, although in real life it is.
