Beat the Irish!!!

For the youngins....

Never let any Bruin tell you that they are our main rival, they are nothing more than the little pestering brother looking for respect (vice versa in b-ball). ND will always be our main football rival and today is an important day because we have a chance to stifle a resurging ND program.

Isn't it great to have your team be in such a big game like this? I tell you, I overlooked higher ranked schools for moments like this, and I don't regret it a bit. I will never remember the nights in the library, but I will always remember days like this!

Fight on! Beat the Irish!

This very well may be the biggest game played during our years at 'SC... Enjoy the game for everything that it is... The greatest rivalry in college football... Unbelievable tradition, passion, hatred, and respect... UCLA doesnt even come close to the Domers... Fight on! BEAT THE IRISH!

FIGHT ON SC!!!
GO TROJANS!

my dad's at the game, he says its crazzzyy!!

Half time. phew Interesting game so far. Things are just getting started though! :D Beat the Fighting....ehhh...Drinking Irish! FIGHT ON!

You know the national championship is destine to be SC's.
Who would have thought a fumble could be the best thing in the world.

amazing. simply...amazing. i dont know what to say. that was incredibly close...and incredibly sweet. FIGHT ON!

lucky not to get an offensive face mask penalty, too

If there were a facemasking foul on the offense all I can say is that it is Notre Dame's karma from the cheap and late tackle on Bush for one of the touchdowns he ran in. Wow, what a game.

That ball was spotted soooo poorly. It went out at the 3, not the 6-inch line.

Oh my gosh. That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I think it would be scary to be at Notre Dame right now.

THAT WAS THE BEST FOOTBALL GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!!

My roommates are thankful that we won, cuz I was really getting nasty and violent up until the end! :o

No way did it go out at the 3. Bitter my Sooner friend?

Bitter as a sour apple. But seriously, I have video stills showing the ball going out at the 3.

Sooners, watch your replay of it. The ref is level with the goal line and moves to avoid the ball -- into the end zone. The ball is visible about 2 yards from him but when it is several feet outside the sideline. Leinart was in the air, near the plain of the zone when he is hit. He is about 1-2 feet from the side line. That ball had to hit the sideline between the 1/2-1 yard line. The ref was right there to make the call -- and it was right.

I was just happy that Jarrett finally caught a good one on 4th and 9. I never even imagined the game would end the way it did. Yeah!

Read up on your rules Sooner. When a ball is fumbled, goes backwards (like you said right?), and ends up out of bounds, the ball is marked at the POINT of the fumble which was clearly within the 1 :).

A funny analysis:

"How do you analyze an epic that, carried along by hype and crowned with controversy, exceeded its otherworldly advance billing?

How do words even remotely begin to capture the totality of the drama and determination, the agony and ecstasy, the rise and fall of great powers in the most arresting college football passion play since the 2003 Fiesta Bowl involving Miami and Ohio State?

To provide a straightforward analysis of this game would be akin to dissecting the strata formations of the Grand Canyon, or coldly assessing the painting mechanics of Michelangelo while viewing the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. You just don’t do it.

Instead, you pick one play... and you stand in awe before a level of beauty as sublime as anything ever fashioned by human beings."

Whew. I don't think I've ever been so emotional over a game, with only last year's Cal game coming close. My poor roommate and her ucla fan boyfriend. I was just screaming and pacing and jumping up and down and groaning and just doing some crazy things. They got a kick out of me.

That was the worst play call on the last play of the game. If Leinart didn't get in, game would have been over and USC would have lost. They should have taken one shot at the end zone, and if they missed, kicked the field goal to tie. They were lucky things worked out so well, but I can't believe Carroll let Leinart make such a stupid play call.

its called trust in the offensive line, plus i don't think they actually had time to call a play...
