Honestly, the background of aptitude has ALWAYS been a very interesting topic for me. It stems from the fact that social phenomenon have often been explains to me as "You're just smart. You're an outlyer." I've always refused to take this as an explanation - what can make me "Just smart" in comparison to my peers - raised in the same enviorment as I am and who have gone to the same schools as I have for their entire lives (90% of our class went to one of 4 elementary schools, and 92% of us went to the same middle school).

I've always searched for the definition of "smart" - what determines someone's inate intelligence which seems to define their ability to achieve in school. Why someone with so much artistic expression as some of the people I see in school fail so greatly at achieving grades (if not for lack of trying).

The article posted here was VERY interesting to me - it actually provides proof that the idea of "just smart" could apply, but I still find that to be a very weak reason for anything. I'm WANT to think that smartness has nothing to do with genetics (and this almost conclusively proves that it isn't based on atmosphere)...but then what is it based on?

I'd like to point out that this article really would help conservative arguments that the reason for black poverty isn't at all based on enviornment - apparently this article says that enviorment doesn't affect someone's aptitude at all - which is clearly false. It does, to some degree.
