uw gpa : 3.06
SAT: 1850

I also recieved really strong teacher (ap biology and ap lang) and counsler reccs. furthermore, with my transcripts was sent and extra letter saying that I will be graduating with a global sciences honor and molecular biology honor

i think you have a pretty good shot. your sat scores are def good for umbc, the gpa is a little low but all of your activities and interests should help compensate for that. good luck!

thanks…anyone else?

I don’t know what school UMBC is, but I think that although your GPA is relatively low, your SAT is good. I was going through the same with earlier with waiting for the results from a college I really want to go to…it’s easy for me to say not to worry about it, keep your mind occupied, but it is really harder than it seems!

Focus that nervous energy on the tasks ahead. In fact, get off CC…being on CC before the results will drive you crazy!

catsushi is right. Don’t surf CC before the result. You get really anxious.

And, I think you have good chance (better if your GPA is higher).

Averages at UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County):

GPA (weighted) 3.65 (so unweighted is around 3.35)
SAT: around 1750 (25%-75% range is 1600 to 1930).

They accept about 67% of applicants, but focus on tough courseload.

According to what I see–your have the tough courseload, and the SAT is obviously okay. ECs are good, but the GPA is low.

Translation: You are borderline admit. It’s about 50-50 for you–and if I had to guess, I’d say all your honors classes and good recommendations will get you in–but barely.

Good luck.

so basically im going to get defferred or rejected?

no man i’m pretty sure you’re in. I live about 20 mins away from UMBC, and I see kids with worse stats get in there alot. I think you’ll be fine.

i sure hope so!!
i’m so jittery i cannot eat or sleep…
