Thoughts, please?

I don't know most of the schools on that list, but you will probably get into American. Someone else can probably answer better than me, though.

Help-----Isn't anyone out there??

Yes, we're here, but not everyone can respond to all the topics.

I think that you have a very nice list here. I think you have a good chance at all (depending on the exact breakdown of the sat I suppose, but 1900 sounds good to me) except maybe GW. Some of your schools I know are sat optional. Just curious, did you submit scores to Muhlenburg and Susquehanna?I know they are sat optional, but don't know if others on your list are also sat optional.

I actually submitted to all-----whether SAT optional or not.

I think that you have a good chance everywhere, with GW being the reach school. Do you feel that you have a safety school? I would add one if possible.

My counsellor sees Susquehanna and Scranton as my safeties. I've visited both and loved them-----particularly Susquehanna. So-----if I land there----that'd still be fine.

Posting this in the hopes that someone out there may have similar stats to mine.

I've received two acceptances thus far.

Scranton and Susquehanna.

Very nice- They are both nice schools with small classes and individualized attention. Which one do you like more?

Twice each.

I favor Susquehanna by far. Still hoping for acceptance at a DC school---or Gettysburg, though.

You should make it into Goucher and American. My son also applied to Susquehanna and just got accepted this week. It is a very nice school. Scranton is supposed to be nice too. Susquehanna has a very high acceptance rate (I think it is 80% or so). I think there will be some nice merit money. According to USNEWS 28% got an ave. of 10,800 in merit aid. Did you get any scholarship info with your acceptance? The downside is it is in the middle of nowhere, you need a car, little name recognition, and heavy on greek (unless you like greek life). The faculty contact is wonderful. My son also applied to a school in the Baltimore area-Towson. It is across the street from Goucher.

Your question about Merit Aid brings me to mention this story.

I didn't actually receive the full exceptance packet. What I received instead was a letter from the Financial Aid office congratulating me on my admittance and reminding me what forms were necessary from the standpoint of scholarships and aid.

It struck me after a few days that there was no mention at all about when I had to respond by. So-----I gave them a call.

The woman in the Admissions Office told me that the letters had been sent out totally by mistake------and that they'd indeed been sent to some kids were weren't accepted AT ALL!!!

So now-----she asks my name----telling me that she can check whether or not I'm actually in. She takes my name----and makes me sweat it out about five minutes or so-----when she finally returns and tells me that I'm "one of the lucky ones".

I then ask when the "real" packet will arrive. Oh------in about another week, I'm told. What about Merit Aid, I ask. Oh---that comes in yet another letter in several weeks.

Lucky ones?? I must confess that I began to wonder.

It is a very "homey" feeling place, though. I will be keeping it on my radar----but I'm still hoping for DC.

My feeling about Scranton was centered around the surrounding community. Nice looking school-----the kids seemed pretty cool. What was a bit of a turnoff was the community a few blocks in any direction. It gave the appearance of an old mill town which had fallen on hard times. That was the only turnoff-----and I would have certainly attended if it was the highest of my priorities to have taken me. I rate SU the better choice for me, thus far.

Sorry that happened. We got the acceptance folder first. Then we got the financial aid forms in a seperate envelope (2 days later). Did you get the white folder? The letter inside has the a handwritten "congratulations" written on it by the Director of Admissions.

No-----all I got was a letter from financial. But the letter started out by congratulating me on my recent acceptance. That was the red flag to me. What acceptance?? After my phone call to Admissions-----I started to understand the snafu and I realized how much I hadn't gotten. They told me that I'll be getting the stuff I should have gotten within a week.
