Prospective major: Art History; double major with Victorian Studies at Vassar.
GPA: 91.81/98.0 UW, most rigorous courseload possible. This includes some grades from eighth grade that bring it down, though, and I'm not sure how important those will be. (Without them, it's probably closer to a 93.)
ACT: 33 (35 English and Reading, 32 Math, 31 Science, 8 Writing :()
SAT: 660 CR/670 M/670 W (first attempt). I retook them in November, so I'm getting my scores tomorrow, but I don't plan on submitting them unless they've vastly improved. I'm taking the SAT IIs in December.
APs: Euro, 4; US, 4; Lang, 4; Art History, 5. This year I'm taking Economics (micro and macro mashed together), Psych, Lit, Bio, Stat, and Spanish.

First quarter grades:
Psych - 95
French - 94
Lit - 91
Spanish - 90
Stat - 92
Bio - 85
Econ - 88

Let it be known that I've been having some really stressful medical problems since senior year began. They haven't been too detrimental, but in some classes (namely Bio) I really fell behind due to absences, etc. I don't intend to use this as a crutch, but I figured I'd mention it here in case it matters.

ECs/Awards/Community Service--Whatever's listed is just the important stuff. I've got a few extraneous things, but these are the things that I've actually made an effort to be involved in.
[ul]Summer Courses: summer of grades 9-10 at a local university; summer of grade 10 at a literary establishment sort of... thing.
[]National Honor Society: 11-12
[]Spanish Honor Society: 11-12
[]Literary Magazine: had a few poems in the magazine in tenth grade, was a staff member in eleventh, and now I'm co-editor! This is probably my 'big deal' EC in that it's the one I'm most passionate about.
[]Art Club: 9-11; went on a field trip to NYC every year to check out all the museums. Led a few club projects, namely one where we painted doors that were auctioned off to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
[]Gold medals on Le Grand Concours (the national French exam) levels two and three with the highest score in the chapter for level three. I will probably be in the French Honor Society this year, as I wasn't eligible last year (hadn't taken the state exam yet; I didn't start French till I was a sophomore).
[]I volunteer a few times monthly at a local fair trade store and have done so for a year--I'm also really passionate about this one. This, coupled with other volunteer work, will probably give me about 100 hours total.
[]Indoor + Outdoor track in eleventh grade, but only JV because I was horrid, haha.
[]Fencing Lessons: 12 (again, I was horrid).
[li]Self-teaching Russian (...slowly...)[/ul][/li]I write and make art a lot in my free time, so for supplemental materials plan to submit some writing and scans of my collages. The art won't be going in for formal review, at least I don't plan on it--I just want to try and show off a side of me that doesn't really come through in the rest of my application.
