I just did a search and read through some info about being a page, but I have one other question. If you apply to be a page during your senior year, and you're 18 by then, are you still eligible? What about if you're 18 by the summer program?

I’m pretty sure you can’t be a page during your senior year. You can only be a page during the summer after sophomore year, junior year, and the summer after junior year. You have to be 16 years old.

Ahh. My friend and I were discussing it though, and he will be 18 the summer after our junior year. Does that automatically render him ineligible?

Oops, sorry. You have to be at least 16 years old, so he is eligible.

Thanks, just wanted to clarify. :)

It’s typical that we both got all excited about it, then found out that our representative is new and can’t nominate anyone for this year.

^^^ yea I totally agree because I called almost every U.S Senator and Representative for my state, and none of them had a clue of what I was talking about, didn’t care, or couldn’t nominate. Try applying for your state senate or state reps. I did and was accepted as a state senate page.:)

abercrombieindy, congratulations, but the problem with the State Senate thing is that every state’s state senate page program works differently. For some states it’s a full-year thing, but for other states being a page just means visiting for 1 day.

^^ Thanks. I wanted the full semester page program but some of the ladies who work the phones in Washington D.C were nasty. Like for the U.S rep page program it states in their website that if your local rep can’t sponsor, you can ask any rep from your state. But when i tried to call this rep not from my area, the secretary or whatever got an attitude in a nasty tone and was like " You can’t do it , you need to call your own representative." even after I explained to her what was on the website…ugghh :(

Yeah I know what you mean, abercrombieindy. I called my senator’s office and the lady who picked up said that she didn’t know anything about it and to email the senator about it. I already emailed both my senators about it 4 months ago and they have yet to reply.
