becoming a prosecutor....

How are the work hours and pay for working as an ADA? That's what I want to be, but I've heard it's grueling and that it can make people miserable. Anyone here know the truth?

You can't handle the truth...

lol...@ 17, this shouldn't worry you

Prosecutors work hours closer to "normal" working hours than do other positions in law, especially in private practice. For example, if the local courts are closed for Martin Luther King Day, a prosecutor won't be working, but a private attorney will be billing away.

Being a prosecutor is probably the best training ground for becoming a litigator in private practice. One of the pleasures of prosecuting is putting away very bad people who have harmed other people. The down side is prosecutors see the worst side of our society. Presenting evidence of horrible murders can make you sick. Seeing murders like O.J and Robert Blake walk free can also make you sick but that really does not happen that often.

thanks for all the input, guys....i know it's a little early to be thinking about it, but I'm just trying to see what kind of internships/programs I might want to look into during high school. thanks again.....it sounds like what you said, razorsharp, matches what I thought it would be like.
