yeah, ive been on that page

i was more wondering if like anyone who has been a RA could tell me about what they do
and if a soph could be a RA

I haven’t been an RA but I’m part of ORL and have meetings with them on a weekly basis. Becoming an RA without having been a member of ORL is pretty tough. I’m not aware of that many 2nd years. Only 3rd and 4th years. My suggestion is to become a part of your Hall staff during your 2nd year and get to know the RD- that’ll help you greatly in the selection process (RDs of every building hand select their RA staff) so if the RD knows and likes you…you’re in.

Something to consider in the mean time - get a taste for what being an RA is like and possibly helping your chances for becoming an RA during the school year is to apply to be a summer RA. I was just at my hall staff meeting this week and we discussed this. Apparently…it’s VERY EASY to get this. There are plenty of people with no prior ORL/RA experience that were able to become summer RAs. Just something to think about.
