would you prefer a 4inch memory foam or a 6inch memory foam bed topper?
The 6 inch is only a couple dollars more than the 4inch, but i’m worried that if i get the 6inch and loft my bed then my face would be too close to the ceiling.

Why do you want to loft it to the point of risking hurting yourself?
Better question: Will your sheets fit over your bed? :))
Get either one. Just try not to loft it so high that your face is to the ceiling. Give yourself some wiggle room.
My son had the 4" on his x-tra long twin and it was hard to get the fitted sheet on it. Go with the 4".
I wouldn’t get anything over 4". I think I purchased a 3" topper. My son says that his bed in college is more comfortable than the one at home.
if 2" is all it takes to go from “ok” to “face in the ceiling,” I sure hope you weren’t planning on having anyone else join you in your bed (if you know what i’m saying
