I wanted to know if there were any math courses that I can crash into anytime SOON?

I REALLY need a math class, and there are no 8 week classes to my knowledge ANYWHERE near Los Angeles...!!

Anyone know of any math classes that can be taken online 8 weeks? or something that started earlier?

PLEASE, GUYS i need your help... PLEASE help me

Thank you guys!

have you called the school and asked them personally if they could waive that requirement?

edit: or not waive it, but if you can complete it there.

You can take a UC Berkeley Extension course online.

I took one for Statistics. You have 6 months to complete it, but I finished mine in about 6 weeks. When you’re done with all your work, you just schedule your exam with a proctor local to you and you’re done.

Class is like almost $800 bucks though.

@bougiebouche, thanks for your reply!
I don’t think so, because this class is a pre-req to my MAJOR!

@fluxrad, thanks so much! I will look into this!

oh okay, nvm. but fyi, this worked for a friend of mine who got into ucla for this upcoming fall. just saying. it wasn’t one of his major pre-reqs tho

^ what about for an english class for my friend?

idk, he’d have to call.

@bougiebouche thanks man :(

OMG i’m going to get killed by my asian parents if they find out i have to stay at cc for another year just because of one math class :(

i dun goof’d pretty hard guys

what can i do?

Take the Berkeley Extension class?

It’s transferable and quick.

If money is the issue, you’re going to paying way more in tuition and book costs for fluff classes in the long run.

^ that isn’t the issue…

it’s whether UCSD will accept that UC Berkeley class!! :(

what about for english class for a friend of mine? he’s in the same situation as me?

UC Berkeley extension classes are transferrable to UCs.

EDIT: SOME classes are transferrable. My stats class was transferrable.

Not sure about english classes. You’ll have to check the website…

First off, I want to just thank everyone who took the time to help me!

This is my condition for UCSD

Complete subject requirements by the end of Spring term 2012, including two UC-transferable English composition courses; one UC-transferable math concepts and quantitative reasoning course; four UC-transferable courses chosen from at least two of the following areas: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, physical and biological sciences.

Will, say, a precalc class be ok for this since it’s UC transferrable and I can just take calc 1 and calc 2 later at ucsd?

my major is econ btw ^^

or am i dreaming?

Have you checked on Assist.org ? For my community college, it says Precalc 1 and 2 have to be taken to satisfy the requirement.

^ Yea I know, but I didn’t even take precalc 1 yet

but i’m thinking of taking berkeley online class and trying to pass it…

It worked for me and it was easy too. I would take it with Makan Rokni for Statistics. He was nice, helpful, and didn’t assign too much craziness. I got a C on the final and didn’t study at all. I got a B overall without really trying too hard.

^ Thanks so much man!!!

@smcpaul: both PCC and Mt. Sac just started their 8-week class this week. You might want to look into their math schedules. Good luck. =)

fluxrad
that is great info! what a cool program. i love the internet. haha.

PLEASE does anyone know where I can take spanish 2 online?
