Is there anyway that we will find out if we've been accepted earlier than Dec 15th, or is the 15th when Emory mails out the letters? I read on a different thread that they may have mailed them on the 10th, like most schools. In that case depending on our location we could recieve them any day now, right? I ask because im contemplating starting my other applications, but if there's a chance ill hear before wed or thurs I'll hold off till then. Has anyone else procrastinated on their regular decision applications?

Yay, another ED applicant. Somebody from the office of admissions told me that they are being mailed the 15th. Now, whether that is just something they tell to students remains to be seen.

Two years ago mine came like the 17th or so.

That sucks, leaves one weekend for me to get 5 app's completed before I go on break. Honestly if i don't get in, it'll be the first time in 13 years of schooling that i'll be dreading the coming of christmas break.

hey... i kno what you mean...i still have 2 reg decision apps and another essay to write if i dont get into emory...im guessing that we'll prob know the 17th or 18th..and my apps are due to guidence the 22nd...talk about crunch time lol...

I got my ED acceptance on the 18th last year. However, i checked OPUS the night before on a whim and a new message appeared saying something to the effect of: "the current name you are using is only temporary. here is your permanent name, create a password to verify...these names are used by students, faculty, and staff of emory university." So I actually created the ID I now use for school before I got my official letter. When I checked this an hour later, it reverted to the old screen so it was obvioulsy an error. Theres a very small chance that they'll make this mistake again, but you never know so check your OPUS account every now and then.

SMB223, I commend you. I have 12 schools that I'll be applying to if i dont get into Emory, none of which i've started to work on. 5 of them need to be in guidance before the 22nd. I'm thinking that if i don't get in, the only smart and sane thing to do would be to have guidance send out transcipts, secondary reports and counselor recs, and then complete the rest online, including having teachers send out recs, during break before the deadlines. Does anyone feel this would be a bad plan, and that i should just bust my ass before break and get everything done and sent in one written package? Also, on a more optimistic note i read in a college book the other day that Emory's ED acceptance percentage a year ago was 67. Did anyone else see this info, and what's your opinion on it, being that Emory is ranked in the top 20 for universities?

I had a similar experience with opus two years ago. They've since changed the program, but when I logged onto opus a day before my letter came all of a sudden there was an area that said "for students." So, I guess weird things on opus are a good sign.

haha i just logged in and i think my mind is playin tricks on me being i was reading these posts.. to all that applied to you now have new links available under finances and academics? like view advisers, academic records, enrollment, etc.

hey.... i got that too...it def cant be a bad sign!

I have that too, never really checked out opus though so it could have been there the whole time. My links aren't accessible though, are yours?

Are you sure that stuff wasn't there the whole time?, and does anyone not have it?

well now i'm thinkin it mighta been there before.. ours aren't accessible either. however, i check opus quite often, and i definately would have noticed it

then again u dont' go there so of course they aren't accessible as of now.

who knows.. i hope they weren't there b4 lol

I doubt it.

I have those "new" options as well, however none of them are links. Just text. Perhaps they will link them the 15th?

Actually a few of them are linked. Hopefully, it's a good sign.

u didn't see them b4 wka have u?

It looks like a totally new menu.
