Before or After the AP Class?

Did you guys feel AP bio helped for the sat II at all? or should i just take bio at the end of the year?

I know this is kinda the wrong forum, but i got no response(and SAT II forum is dead)

Bumping

My S has similiar question. His school does not offer AP Bio every year. We were hoping he could take SAT II bio after his regular Bio test then if he is able to get AP Bio in future HS year, re-take SAT II

If I could, I would take SAT II bio first as a good prep for AP Bio Exam…some do the opposite. You can always retake the SAT II, but much harder to retake the AP Bio

I actually took the SAT II a week before my AP Bio exam. I would definitely recommend you take the SAT II very late in the AP Bio course or immediately after the course is over, to keep it fresh in your memory. A lot of the SAT II is related to stuff covered late in AP Bio, such as the organ systems.

It helped me a lot. But I didn’t take AP bio for the SAT II. I took it for AP Bio.

I encourage your son to take the sparknotes tests for Bio before he takes the SAT. They helped me a lot, for the questions are very similar.

Good luck!

790 on Bio SAT II

^^thanks, im wondering if any1 else has experiences relating to this since the subforum seems to have been revived

I agree. Take AP Bio first. A lot of the SAT was, IMO, quite detailed. Also, what advantage do you really have of taking it so early? Your score will obviously be much higher if you wait till the end of the year.
