Should I wait to see if the colleges request them? They know the figures are estimated and there is nothing on their financial aid pages about it. The last thing I want to do is irritate them by sending unnecessary stuff! The changes are minimal, couple of hundred dollar difference in deductions and taxes owed, so I can't imagine it is going to change anything, and the affected info will show when I use IRS data retrieval on the Fafsa.

I think the colleges, AFAIK, have already asked for it. Those colleges I talk to, all request the CCS Profile Acknowledge printout with corrections, and send to them asap.

Also, I don’t think those CCS Profile colleges will cross check your FAFSA to look for updates. If I am correct, they use FAFSA to calculate the Fed. FA part, other college FA is mainly from your PROFILE.

I emailed three schools this morning. The first told me there was no need to update as they will pull the correct figures off the FAFSA. The second told me to feel free to fax any updates to them, but honestly didn’t sound as though it was necessary. The third I am still waiting to hear back from. I did make it very clear in my email that they were very minor corrections that affected tax return figures only.
