Late yesterday I was thinking about this thread and how dark the dark side of the moon really is…
Cue: Pink Floyd

then…the phone rang…

Summation:

Our student verbaled at the OV and coaches had a few weeks of OVs to do and no “offical” offers of LL would be made until after all recruits were seen…
Got the “call” offered the LL
Submitted the app the next day
Snail mail delayed the LORs so after 11 days and emails from me and the coach, the GC relented and faxed the LORs. “reading file” began mid/late last week.

Got THE CALL yesterday that the LL is approved and on the way!

Nov 1 will be a day to remember in this house!

A word of thanks to GFG, Sherpa, Riverrunner and all other posters – I’ve found your insights enormously helpful even though I don’t think D is exactly in the recruited category (she’d has interest from several D3 schools; one offer of support; some OVs; but she’s not getting pre-reads or suggestions to apply early across the board.) We’re trying to put together the best strategy that will get her into a school where she can do her sport and get a good education. Over the summer, she bought a book about “athlete’s guide to getting in to college.” This forum is 100% better. Thanks all.

Congratulations fogfog and kiddo! Somehow, I missed the official announcement. I am very proud of your child, very deserving! It has been a wild rife, but what a fabulous ending. Best of luck to you both and hopefully, next year we will see each other at collegiate sporting events!

Wow, congrats to fogfog and fog jr! That is great news, and very exciting. Fogfog, all the best to you and your extended family as well. I guess I missed your announcement as it was buried in all these threads. Frame that LL!

^^ Thanks.
The lovely, lovely envelope…cream/buff paper with a lovely, lovely LL inside…
Such a beautiful Letterhead it is!!! …
What a great, great day!!
We have been at peace and happy to know it was coming
and it was so nice to see it arrive…
and have the offical reading of the LL :D
